Just use VLC player to play anything and it took 6 minutes to get your point across. This could have easily been a 2 minute video.

The CODEC pack you suggested installed so many horrible things on my PC I will just say, thanks ass, and leave a down vote. That is just poor Youtube behavior and, in case ya didn't get it, you suck and please die....

i have the cybershot camera, and the kind of file that it has is MTS ,of course the camera can play the videos very good but when i pass the videos to my computer, they barely play, or my lap can´t play them correnly whether the audio or the video fails, so my question is: what can i do to play the videos on my computer without convert them, because i have already done that and is the same problem with any kind of file... thank for your help bros.
23:58
yes he did... the newest premiere (at least unregistered versions) does not import audio on MTS files and he showed an easy an free way to convert it into a format accepted by premiere. Once converted, premiere receives it without a problem or incompatibility. It is the perfect answer if you do not have the means to purchase a converter. And that is exactly what the tittle of this tutorial says (How To Convert Videos In .MTS Format To Another Format Using A PC)
23:58
Thank you so much!! it worked perfectly! I had a job yo finish with no time to stall and I decided to upgrade to premiere cs6, and in it the MTS files do not import audio! This solution was a lifesaver! the movie maker imported the videos with audio, and converted them easily with not much quality loss
23:58
THANK YOU SO MUCH! This video totally saved my hide on a video project I'm working on. I got 2 .mts files from someone and iMovie didn't want to import them. This was perfect

23:58

23:58
@Chemilha are you running vista or 7? i have xp and i get the same message
23:58
Robert, I followed your steps but when I click on the .mts files from my Canon MG20, I hear the audio but the screen is black. No picture. Windows Media Player can't play them. I am using Windows 7. I downloaded VLC media player and they play fine. But I still can't upload them to Youtube. Any ideas?
23:58
You rock, thanks Robert!
23:58
I tried to download it but my computer said the developer was unknown so it could contain a virus so it wouldn't let me use it. Help!
23:59
I have a HDPVR which makes M2TS videos but when they're saved on my computer and I click on them, at the bottom it says they are a AVCHD video. Will this help me to convert these also.
23:59
@Chemilha watch the vid moron....
23:59
Thank you so much, solved many of my problems.....
23:59
I have a Sony HDR cx350v. I have a question, what you said about going to the computer drive and opeining up the video from your camera plugged into the computer and watching it on windows movie player, well when i do it the video like lags when it plays. Now is that because of the format or is it the HD quality? And i have a PC computer.
23:59
Gotta say dude, worked as you said solved my problem completely. Great Job
23:59
thank youuu!!! I just bought an EXPENCIVE camera, and I couldn't even watch the videos on my pc, so this was REALLY usefull! Thank you!!!
23:59
@RobertSmith3 Thanks for the forum info! Maybe an Apple is my best bet and in my near future?...I will ask around.
23:59
@scootersays On the PC, I'm not quite sure since I spend little to no time using it to work on videos, but try asking around at this forum: "avsforum(dot)com" Same goes for the DVD program/player. I 100% use my Apple computers to produce my videos now, so sorry I cannot help you further.
23:59
I have the HF20 and have a Toshiba(PC) Satellite P35 laptop. I'm not too savvy with video and editing, so maybe you can help? What is the best burner I can get, to burn to DVD format, to be able to playback on my DVD player for my HD-LCD TV? What is the best software now(2011) for the HF20, for playback and editing for PC?THANKS!
23:59
what is the latest codec that needs to be downloaded called?
23:59
thanks!!!
23:59
Hi, I downloaded the first app, and then connected my camera and opened the STREAM folder. My videos were listed as 000001.mts files but there was no thumbnail image and I couldn't even open them to view them in Windows Movie Maker. Computer has Windows Home.
23:59
i got a quetion , why do my files look like inslow motion?
23:59
Thanks for this video! It really helped me out.
23:59
what's the best format to convert mts to after we're done editing? so that I have the best quality possible for youtube?
23:59
@sivius LOL!Yeah, that's what I thought - "what the hell is a CODIAK?" (I like your Kodiak better though)
23:59
I have a JVC HD camcorder which comes with it's own (shit) software and totally rapes the original video quality regardless of which mode it's been recorded in. It uses MTS files (AVCHD) and I can play them on my PC no prob but I wanted a better way to convert these to a HD file (H264 like MP4) so youtube sees it as a 720/1080p option for playback. Would you recommend movie maker for this type of conversion? I'm a bit over watching grainy "HD" vids I've recorded and need a solution, thanks.
23:59
I actually convert mine from .mts to M2T, then It plays fine as I edit in Vegas, final file ends up being M2TS... won't play on my computer but shows perfectly on Youtube and on DVD...I got the Canon Vixia Hg21... Check out my interview with MYSTIKAL
23:59
Thanks, Robert, that works. Although I am not impressed with Canon for having such a user-unfriendly system and I am very unimpressed with the software that came with the camera .
23:59
Does not work with Vista.... ;(
23:59
thanks alot man :)
